My Forks Are Driving Me Mad! Help

ok... last night i found out tthat my manitou six comp's are 80 - 100 mm convertable...well i got the instuctions out of the manitou manual...so i take out the 1st bolt out of the bottom of my fork...but the 2nd bolt is made out of some sort of very soft plastic...when i put an allan (hex) key in it just slowely tries to strip the plastic so im not turning it any further... the plasic bolt wont even budge its really made me mad...what should i do...if i can do it my self the LBS dont open till 11 here and its 9 help
