I'm going to be in Macon/Atlanta this weekend
I want to do some riding. The trails need to be within an hour or so of Atlanta preferably. Any suggestions? I've ridden at the horse park in Conyers, but is there anything else that's good in the area? I don't want to go as far north as Elijay or anything. TIA!

Man.. weak. No replies whatsoever? I know some of you are riding in the GA area
My old buddy Samdabikinman hasn't responded to my PM about local riding just yet. I hope he does!

I wasn't going to bother because I just started riding but since you're getting pissy, I'll chime in. I have not been to all the trails around Atlanta yet but so far:
Big Creek in Roswell..sucks. Waste of time
Tribble Mill Park in Lawrenceville..decent single track hidden in the park..probably not worth the drive
Central Park in Cumming...decent but not worth the drive. (only freeride in Atlanta that I know of)
Chicopee Woods in Gainesville..kind of a hike but I really like these trails..worth the drive.
Yellow River in Stone Mountain..Riverside is lame but Creekside is still pretty good for distance from Atlanta.
I haven't been yet but I hear a lot of good things about Blankets Creek in Woodstock. Anyone else on that?
If you want close to Atlanta: Yellow River Creekside
Willing to drive a little more: Chicopee Woods

Thanks for the info guys. Anyone know of any trails other than the Rec. Park in Macon that are good to ride?

This page lists 4 trails in Macon. I know nothing about them:

hit up that yellow river trail, i have been going out there every weekend for a while, and its awesome, yeah they are taking a bulldozer to parts of it, but just stay off that part and look for the parts that riders have made themselves...then you will have some fun.

the good side of yellow river was "closed" as of yesterday. They seem to be smoothing it out too. There wasn't anything wrong with the trails though, and after an intolerably boring ride on the other side we went and rode the good side a little anyway. The horsepark is really going to be the best trail around, especially if you can ride it. It's worlds different than the others. Chicopee and Blankets Creek are the other two good ones. Blankets Creek is Closer but has less trails. I second the waste of time at Big Creek, and Sope (creek?) seemed pretty weak too. The first is like a one and a half mile beginner trail and the other is all double track.
Really what it has come down to for me is either
the horse park
yellow river(which is now weak)
blankets creek
or chicopee (which is farther from mid-town than all the others).
So if any of you guys know of some other trails I would like to know too, because I'm getting tire of doing laps at blankets creek, and hitting the horsepark every now and then.
