New Crankset

I am going to replace a Crank Set.

When you buy a new Crank Set - does it come complete with all the bottom Bracket stuff to fit the crank you bought ? i.e if I buy the Crank Set is that all I need to worry about to ensure it will go on my Bike ?

I am not sure whether to try & fit myself or not ? is it easy to mess up fitting a new crank shaft & BB ?

Thanks..

i just did it...it was easy. the correct bolts should come with the crank set. you just need to make sure you get the right cranks for your bottom bracket; ie. ISIS splined, shimano Octalink, or square taper.

oh, and i think common bolt sizes are either M12 or M15...might want to check on compatability of this as well

...and you might need a crank puller tool, but they're cheap

It depends on what you buy. Some come with the BB integrated, those are mostly the new type with outboard bearings, (the bearings are outside of the frame, in the older style they are inside, like on a square taper or isis).
If you buy an isis or square crankset you will need to have a BB that fits what you buy. The crank puller is a couple of bucks, but one, pull off your crank, see what you got and go from there.
