Damn, old stuff is heavy!

I ordered a new fork for my Peugeot and went to a threadless headset so I could use a spare stem and handlebar in order to improve the cockpit feel.

Anyway, I decided to weigh the old bar and stem just for fun (mainly because I was shocked at how heavy the bar felt)...combined they were just under 2.5lbs! I'm not too worried about the weight on this bike but you have to admit that's damn heavy for those two components.

Well thats not too bad, only 800 grams more than my bar and stem.

Even if you are a non weight weenie I'm sure you will appreciate that much of a weight loss. Especially since you won't see any negatives in performance.

Yeah, that's ridiculous, eh? When I first picked up the bar, I thought it was filled with sand! I wasn't too worried about the weight of the bike but it looks like going singlespeed and updating some parts will drop more weight that I thought. I weighed it a long time ago and I think it was around 30lbs...now I can see why!
