Got my new parts
 

I just got my new parts for my bike today. I got an Azonic Outlaw wheelset and a rear BB7 brake to match the front one I got before. I don't know what year my brakes are though because they have a not quite round rotor with only a few circular holes in it. The front brake I got before is completely round with many holes in it. Anyway the wheels went on without a problem except that i had to shave the paint from inside the cutouts on the bottom of my fork in order for the wheel to go all the way in. The rear brake doesn't seem to be very powerful however. Is this because it needs to be "broken in"?

You probably have the 2006 BB7. It has the "roundagon" rotor, as you described.

Yes, it needs to be broken in before the full stopping potential is obtained. The rear brake would generally weaker than front. The rear brake should at least lock the rear wheel when you give it a good squeeze. If it doesn't, then you might want to look into it further.

When you say it should lock when i give it a good squeeze does that mean sitting down or standing?

Both.

I just sprint and then practice my threshold braking technique (get on them as hard as possible without locking up). Repeat until the brake feels better or you're exhausted.

Try re-adjusting the brake pads. I fiddled with my stupid bb7 front brake all night because I couldn't figure out how to put the pads back in. In the end it was amazingly easy, but oh well. I really like my new bb7 though. Make sure your rotors are clean, mine weren't, so the brakes didn't work right.

Juicy 5's...hmm. I'd guess a week or two of decent riding...or maybe like 20 hours or so. I am, however, just guessing.

Sounds like quite a bit. :p Oh well, thanks for the info, I guess I'll have to speed it up with a bit of sprint braking. :p
