I am going to be testing the new GT iT1 so I was browsing the GT site and under their FAQ's page they talk about rider weight limits and I agree and like their answer. For you heavier riders who ask what frame will work read this;
"A: We do not set weight limits on any of our bike due to differences in the purpose that people have for the bike. A 14 year old that weighs 120 lbs could easily destroy one of our bikes if he abuses it by jumping it or similar unintended uses. However, a 400 lb rider could be perfectly content with the durability of a bike if he uses is solely recreationally and avoids impacts such as curbs and pot-holes. We can't specify a weight limit on a bike because failure is caused by impact, not static loads..."
So before asking what frame can hold your weight you should try and decide what style of riding you will be doing. If you are not sure how big a 3', 6' or 10'+ drop is go stand on things that are at those hights and determin if you are willing to ride a bike off 'em. If you are not sure how far a 10', 15' or 20'+ gap or double jump is then go out in front of your place (or anywhere), measure the distance and decide if you would jump that far. Same goes for descents, rock gardens, ladders, etc etc etc.
Once you determin how you will ride then you should ask what frame would work. Oh yeah, don't judge the stunts by pictures or video, they never really show how big or small a stunt is unless it is a compleatly sick stunt or drop :D
