recommend a trail in Mendoza, Argentina?

Anyone here mountain biked in Argentina? I hear that both the wine and the mountain biking are fabulous in Mendoza.

I'm looking for an outfitter who can hook me up with a decent bike (I'd take mine, but I'm not going to be in Mendoza the whole time I'm in the country) and point me toward 2-3 days worth of the best trail systems for day rides accessible from town. Recommendations?

Any help is appreciated.

Nico

I have not rented bikes in Mendoza but rented in San Martin de Los Andes and checked what was available for rent in Bariloche and I would recommend you to take your bike with you or give biking a rest during your vacations. The bikes available for rent in Argentina generally suck big time. I would bet that you will not find a decent bike in Mendoza and if you do, then the issue will be to find decent trails to ride. Unless you find a private bike to borrow and someone to take you to a trail you are screwed. Argentina for mountain biking is frustrating as the terrain would allow for building good single track and the weather is good but it is too difficult to find where to ride. If you still want to do it take your helmet, seat bag, minitool, etc with you. I'd say forget the whole plan. Go for the asado, empanadas, wine and cute girls, not for the riding.
