Just one of those days

Have you ever had one of those days where you just can't ride?! I have had plenty of those. Whether if its that I'm not focused or just not feeling well, sometimes i just can't ride without screwing up! Or if it's this one section or stunt you know that you can do well, but when you go do to it you can't pull it off? You know, just one of those days? Anybody have stories or incidents relating to this?

I ride the same set of trails regularily. I have on a couple of occasions gone out and not been able to focus. This leaves me riding slowly, unable to ride obstacles that are easy for me and generally having a crappy ride. I usually end up cutting these rides short so I don't get totally frustrated.

So yes it has happened. But I usually go home, visualize and come back stronger after a day off. It is usually a good sign of over training.

I had one of those times in response to a fear attack. Years back, I was riding along quite nicely, when behind me I heard this almighty shout and suddenly two alsation dogs were on my heels. I tried to ride as fast as I could but my legs instantly turned to jelly - so much for adrenaline, eh?

I had to quickly dismount and put my bike between me and the dogs. One of them, for a reason only it knew flew at me in attack mode. Fortunately, I was able to hit it with the bike and it backed away. The owner came around the corner and called the dogs to heel, but he was more pissed off with me than he was with the dogs. The adrenaline suddenly kicked in and I wanted to take my bike and smash it over his head. I rode away almost with the shakes - not a great ride.
