Out of curiosity, how was it removed from being his possession?

Since it was stolen in the greater Spokane area, be sure your friend posts a 'stolen' notice on Round and Round's site and the Fat Tire Trail Rider's Club discussion board. Probably would not hurt to put it on RideMonkey's Pacific Northwest forum. There's a Stolen bikes sticky thread there. Good luck.

Look on EBay. I read that a lot of the bikes for sale on there are stolen.

I'll keep an eye out if it ever makes its way down to NorCal.
