I see Gerber like I see Ford. Sure, almost everything they produce sucks. But even Ford has the GT, and Gerber has some good ones too, like the silver trident, and the applegate folders.

For 10 bucks or less, the gerber is actually a realy good saw. Much better than the competition at that price if you ask me.

Gerber's hatchets are supposed to be alright. Just upgrade! You could use a small hatchet anyway. Everybody could.

For around 18 bucks Home Depot sells a Corona folding pruning saw with a seven inch blade. It cuts through manzanita and oak like butter. Kind of a small picture but this is the one I use.
