Is this a good deal?
Sorry for the annoying question, but I haven't been keeping track of prices on MTB components for the past few seasons, so I don't know what's a good price and what isn't.
I'm building up a "beater" hardtail, and I've been fishing around for components. I found a deal on:
LX M-572 crank.
LX 9-sp shifter pods
LX 9-sp read derailleur.
$154 shipped.
It seemed like a good deal, but what do I know?

And no, I'm not swapping my nice raceface crank onto my beater , and the XTR derailleur would be silly to have on a beater. LBS has x-9 shifters in stock for $95 though. Not bad for a LBS price.

The place has a nice deal on XT too. XT pods with XT front and rear derailleur, $125 + shipping.

Feh, they were out of stock on the crank, so now my options are:
1) Go with the XT crank ($85 and) stay with the LX shifters/der ($170 total)
2) Go with the XT crank and also with the XT shifers/der ($210 total)
3) Forget the Shimano stuff and go with SRAM x-9 shifters/der and find another crank.
I'm kind of keen on building a non-Shimano bike, but I need to decide how much I want to spend. If I can get a good price for my 9700 frame, I could put that money into the new drivetrain and minimize my expenses.
