Snow ride today.....

Coooooooold. So cold yesterday, that I bailed on riding, and sat inside with a book and some hot chocolate. The deciding factor: stepping out onto the deck, only to have that feeling of my nose hair freezing and sticking. Yeah, not too cold for me to ride, but colder than I'll enjoy riding.

Today? *Slightly* warmer and sunnier, at a blamy 10 degrees. Maybe the snow will be a little bit tracked in.....
Well, it was, but not buy much. One runner, and one other rider seen on trail. Saw two buddies, Migz and Lou in town; after their ride of the same trail, so was able to get a quicky condition report. Packed, but only slightly. Still fun and very slippery. Enough so that the climby bits I normally do in my middle ring had me in the granny.

Rabbit tracks all over the place. Not more rabbit traffic, just that the tracks were much more supremely visible. A few tracks from my preceders, and a few footprints; but not many.

Random trail shots, the other rider, a self-timer shot sequence, and the cats being smart-staying where it's warm and dry.

the lazy buggers. they lounged on the laundry after snoozing by the fire became too tiring. it's a tough life.

nope. perfect amount. doesn't bind at all in big-big combo one little bit. i run my chains as short as i can; never had any problems doing so, in over 10 years of riding. hardtail=no suspension movement/chaingrowth to worry about........ different matter entirely on my 7" travel fully, though.

Cool, it just looks like that Deraileur is really stretched out. Very nice pics though.

My cat is lazy too, when he's not eating or sleeping, hes meowing or fighting with the dog.

That's about where my derailleur is when in the lowest gear. Hardly any chain slap!!

Great pics, it looks really cold out there. I spent some time in Eagle quite a few years back. That whole area is an awsome part of the country.

the weatherman says we might get some snow above 3000 ft. today . A snow ride might be in my near future. I wonder what I did with all my cold weather riding gear. I can't even remember the lastime I rode with tights on!

California's central coast got some unexpected snow twice this weekend, pretty crazy. It was about 90 degrees in the mountains last week. I had a good snow ride myself this morning.
