I was really hoping to be able to ridicule ya but I can't, those bikes are hot!!!! I'm glad to see that you have finally become a weight weenie though, those cable housings on the voodoo look extremely light. The pedals and chain are a weight weenies dream as well! :D

Nice garage door as well. Have you considered some titanium hardware for it? Could lighten it up a few ounces. ;)

born2bahick 02-21-06 06:59 AM

Dude! how much weight are you saving by leaving the chain off? Nice bikes!
EDIT" Man that lowcel is fast"

C Law 02-21-06 07:08 AM

Sweet door . What is that oak? or pine?

erhan 02-21-06 08:07 AM

Those are great looking bikes gastro, and the garage door of course ;)

BoSoxYacht 02-21-06 10:38 AM

Nice rides you got there . I wish I had your problems(choosing which one to ride). Is your garage door locked ?

mcoine 02-21-06 10:41 AM

Hey I think I see a scratch on the right chainstay of the voodoo!

I have no idea how you saw that. Have you been creeping around my garage?

BTW, it's not really a scratch, the protective tape got torn.

Maelstrom 02-21-06 11:13 AM

Holy crap I was gonna make fun of yor garage door, but then the voodoo appeared and almost made me cream myself. Yehaw, THATS sexy.

BTW, rootbeer garage doors are faster ;)

Agent B 02-21-06 12:29 PM

I don't get this thread? whats wrong with your garage door? BTW there are some really cool bikes in those pictures.

mx_599 02-21-06 04:02 PM

do you use soap when you take a shower?

gosh those things are filthy!! try a little soap next time :D

ummm...what else. your grips are silly. i think you should route your front brake hose motocross style. unless there is some permanent mounting feature on the backside of that left leg.

mcoine 02-21-06 04:47 PM

I had to find something wrong. BTW is that an old ringle hub?

cryptid01 02-21-06 05:15 PM

Thanks for the props everyone. I oughtta have the Voodoo finished up here in a few weeks. I think I'm gonna go bmx style, rear brake only. I was going to put my old 66R on it, but the bike is so heavy already - the frame alone is around 7 lbs  That's a big reason why I decided against pedals, chain, and cable housing. :D

mx, what's moto style hose routing? Between the stanchions (like on the SX)? There is a little hanger on the fork, but I can use it either way.

mcoine, yep, it's an old supereight, still running strong (and loud).

And Mael, no point in painting that garage door rootbeer, it's too flexy already. ;)

mtnbiker66 02-21-06 05:30 PM

You do have the most fly garage door in NC! The bikes are OK too. Will you bring the Enduro in April?

yeah...i am sorry, it looks like your SX is like that. i think you should do the same on the other bike.

Okay. :)

66, I haven't decided which I'll bring yet. The new fork lowered the front of the SX by 20mm (while adding an additional 20mm of travel), and it corners like a rat with sneakers now. It climbs better too. If I can get myself in decent shape by then, I may bring it instead.

A rat with sneakers**********? Sweet.

mcoine 02-21-06 08:41 PM

whats the deal with rootbeer? I've had my bike's color, which is "cameleon fire" described as rootbeer, which is actually what it looks like most of the time.

Dannihilator 02-21-06 08:51 PM

Are those sliding drops I see on the Voodoo?

Be prepared for them to look like hell in 2 months. Always check them each time before you go out on it.

Its an old joke that came to mind. For a long time that was THE (and I mean the ULTIMATE) paint colour to get your Santa Cruz bikes. It was all the rave.

mtnbiker66 02-21-06 09:04 PM

Mmmmmmmmmm,rootbeer.....

Dannihilator 02-21-06 09:09 PM

I'm getting my cowan redone in rootbeer.

Also you're using a V brake on a D321? Those are not exactly v-brake compatible.

DylanTremblay 02-21-06 09:33 PM

Sweet bikes Gastro...I really like the red stem on the Voodoo!

wethepeople 02-21-06 11:30 PM

It's a D521 Ceramic. It was designed specifically for V brakes.

Heck yes! - I wondered if anyone would mention that. I still haven't made the final steerer tube cuts yet.
