Hmmm...
Just cant see why they would call those "Shinburger" peddles...? :D Man She Is sweet lookin 'dude! And lucky you... we've got 4" of snow on the ground here.... |
That freakin bike is bad ass dude!
I've always liked the Kona's, looks like fun! good luck with those peds man, I think I would be afraid of them. |
That is sweet. Have fun riding it :)...
Damn wish there was a drool icon |
Makes my stock Sugar 3 look pretty lame !!!
This is one awesome, mean-looking bike. I guess you're in a different league than me !! |
Thanks for the compliments. I was thinking I would put the bike on the wall in the den until next race season but it is toooo tempting to ride her. A buddy of mine just finished a new dh singletrack with some serious drops on a very steep descent. So steep that you can not hike up it with out holding on to the surrounding trees. One of the drops they made also has a 12' gap that you need to clear. We will be going up there this week to break her in (hopefully not literally).

The bike demands severe riding. Have fun breaking her in. She will take it fine :)
|
That is one extreme bike. Now get some pictures or video of that bad boy in action! And that shin pic is freakin nasty.
Beau |
call shinburger and ask for shinpads!
|
sweet ride... dont wait til spring. thats unfair to all of us have-nots!
|
i'll be the lone dissenter...I think that bike is kinda ugly. To me, It seems that the ultra long-travel forks and suspensions common on freeride bikes mess up the look of the bike. No doubt it is freakin awesome to ride, but I think that the best looking bike is the Trek Elite 9.8...mmm...Sleek carbon fiber.

That is sweet! I'm in the ready to start buying mode right now. If I lived where there was more DH I would have one about like yours. I'm going the frameset route, then slapping on what parts I have around my shop + what I can mooch off my friends, but I think I might go with the Bullit and try to build it with a triple ring. I need something that will climb when I need to.
I have a couple questions. Why the Kona? I've looked at them and they seem like a sweet bike. Also, did you start with a frame and build it up yourself? Maybe you can give me your parts sources :) For now unless I find out different I think I'm going with the Santa Cruz Bullit frame, and either White Brother's fork or the RS Boxxer. I have some White Brothers stuff on my MX machine and it's quality. I am open to any advice and suggestions though. I did contact one of the sources you gave me the other day (jb). Will probably go with him on the frame... |
***** dude, those pedals have teeth!!! They are monsters!! Get some armor to protect yourself from those thangs.

that pic isn't that bad. All it is is an open wound 4" long down to the bone
