Bike weights

Is there anywhere you can go to find weights of MTBs that are stock setups? It seems like many places don't give a weight and I'm not really inclined to believe many of them anyway. Maybe people who have weighed their stock bikes could post what their bike is and the weight they found it to be?

Yep, it's annoying that most sites don't list bike weights. I guess most stock bikes are heavy and they would rather not advertise this fact unless it's a light bike. That said, some sites do list weight. I just bought a Kona King Kikapu, and under Kona's "download" section, the have an Excel spread on weights. They list mine as 29.8, but in reality it weighed just under 31 in the shop.

After I lost the reflectors and changed out the stem, seat and pedals, it's at 30 pounds.

FYI: I think Santa Cruz lists weights with various bike configurations.

Yeah, I realize some places do list weights. But weights from manufacturers can be unreliable sometimes. I was just wondering if we could get people together to list bike weights in one place to make looking easier.

a few shops have websites that allow you to build a virtual bike and the weight is tabulated as you go. cyclepaths.com is one of them . your selection is limited to the brands they sell, but it's helpful if they sell the frame you are interested in .
