Opinion about Specialized FSRxc
hey, anyone owned a Specialized FSRxc before? Im thinking that FSRxc Comp (Mechanical Disc) is a good bike for its price. And how doest the bike stand compare to other XC FS bikes like Giant Trance? and etc?

Wheelhot - you need to just go out and ride every bike that you can find. That is the only way you are going to find the right bike for you. You aren't going to find the perfect bike by just asking questions on the internet.

Lol, damn Specialized FSRxc is cheap, just need to buy a Avid BB5 and the price is still cheaper then FSRxc Comp(Mechanical). How much is the rear travel anyway?

Ok what I meaned is that comparing the price of Specialized FSRxc and FSRxc Comp (Mechanical Discs) The price of FSRxc equipped with a just bought Avid BallBearing 5 is still cheaper then FSRxc Comp. And my second question is how much is the rear travel? 4inch or less then 4 inch. And In Malaysia this bike is around 4k, cheaper then Trance 3

Thanks for the clarification. Assuming the FSRxc Comp is the same in Malaysia as it is in the US, the travel is 4 inches. You are correct that the FSRxc, with a conversion to Avid mechanical discs is less than a FSRxc Comp, but that is reasonable since the fork, rear shock, deraileurs, wheels and tires are all upgrades over the FSRxc in addition to the brakes.
As for comparing it to the Trance 3, that's a completely different bike and is a personal choice.

Yeah, better components but in Malaysia the bike will costs RM4k included with Avid BB5, and how come Trance 3 is completely different bike and is a personal choice? Its a XC bike with 4inch rear travel? Oh yeah and can you tell me about FSRxc Seatpost? It looks like you cannot lower the seatpost

Why are you asking how much travel it has? You realise that you can look up the specs of the bike without asking here right?

I read some reviews and they put the rear travel as 3inch plus but not for 4 inch so im not sure. Hmm about the seat post, lets say my height is 175cm must I still cut the seatpost? And the design seems like you cannot lower the seatpost fully, is this true?

I CANNOT DECIDE WHICH ONE IS BETTER IN TERMS OF RELIABILITY AND PERFORMANCE!!! FSRxc Comp or Trance 3. People say Maestro System is better then FSR and I need rider opinions cause most people says that ride a bicycle that you feel comfortable with but here in Malaysia you can only test your bike nearby and I mean very near so technically you wont be able to try it out at rocky terrain. Which one is lighter btw?

Hmm, well no one answered my question at all:

And your answers is not really good, tell why and answer my questions

Wow, do your research. I'm really sorry you can't test ride all the bikes you have ask about but give me a break.Like I said the fsr is one of the most proven systems ever put on a bike. As far as the Giant,I have no Idea! The folks on here answer your questions and you still complain that you need more info. LOOK IT UP YOUR SELF! Check reviews on www.mtbr.com

Componentwise, the two bikes were comparable and I have no doubt that they will be similar in durability and performance. Pick the one that you like the color best

wheelhot, the FSR is a nice bike. It has the essentially the same frame as the Stumpjumper FSR. I don't know about the Trance, but think about it this way... You can't go wrong buying a Specialized. Lots of people buy them and they are good bikes. Now, about components... The reason I didn't buy the FSR XC was because i wanted better components. I got the Stumpjumper FSR instead. Better shocks. But, you will not be unhappy with the FSR XC.

ok i have ridden a 05 FSRxc Pro, FSRxc, as well as a 05 Giant Trance 3,4. the the FSRxc pro comes with better components than the Trance 3,4. FSRxc isnt that good, if you are going for FSRxc, go for the Pro version, otherwise, go with a Trance 3.
