Cannondale CAAD 1 Shock Options?

Hey guys,
I am a newbie here and sort of a newbie at mtn biking. I have some experiance but mostly back when I was younger at BMX bikes. Anyway, I have a quick question.

I have a Cannondale CAAD 1 and I was wondering if there was a shock anyone would recommend to install to make the ride a little nicer. I am 6' tall and weigh about 225 if that helps. I called around and asked some locals but they are not sure what size forks would fit on a CAAD 1. Not even the place I bought the bike from could tell me anything. The bike is about 9 years old and is completely original. I have rode it probably 10 times in the 9 years on a trail. I even have the original tires and tubes.

Thanks for the info.

Mike

Was it an F model with a headshock, or M model with rigid fork? If it had a rigid fork, you should be able to use any 1 1/8" steerer, short travel (less than 100mm) fork in it. Pictures help.

It is the m model. I believe the m300? I have to look at it again. Hard forks for sure though. I want to get shocks in the front, this is why I am asking. Went by the store with my bike today and the guy said it was a 1" neck and I would have to find something in that size. What do you guys think?

I will take pics later and upload them soon.

Thanks,

Mike
