Abandoned Bianchi - What to do?
Next to my apartment building there is a park. In the park is a Bianchi Ocelot that has been sitting in the same spot since Friday evening. The apartment manager doesn't care what happens to it because it's not on the apartment complex's property. I was wondering what is to be done about it? It's in pretty good condition so I hate to see it sit there. It's an older rigid model with the rear pannier, but in good shape. I was thinking I should either take it down and donate it to the Goodwill or Salvation Army, or am I supposed to turn it in to the police or what?

Call the cops and the local bike shops and see if anyone has reported it. It might be a stolen bike.
or just paint it black and you got a new ride.

Take the bike and hold onto it and put a sign up saying you've found a bike, and tell them to call and describe the bike to you and you'll return it. Then, if no one calls within a month or two, then alert the police and ask them what you should do.

it's yours!! If you take it to the cop shop, they will just take it and sell it at auction. Put up flyer asking for discriptions. If no one claims it, then it's yours.

This is obviously old and I'm not sure what day of the week it was written on but no matter where a bike is, if it's there less than a week I wouldn't exactly say you could just take it. Leaving a note might be ok but it's doubtful they'd ever see it.
