weird question

This sounds a bit stupid, but my friend wants to know if it is possible to put bmx pegs on a mountain bike? The bike is a mongoose. Do u need new hubs?

Yes...and I don't think so. You may need longer skewers but a peg attaches like a really big washer.

I have seen many mountain bikes with pegs so it can't be too hard to do...oh and you won't be able to use quick release.

Quick release w/ pegs. That would be very interesting. I sometimes use quick release with a kickstand.

Quick release with pegs: NO!

Aside form the fact that it will be quite hard to close the lever, the skewer of the typical QR will in now way stand up to the shearing forces that pegs create. I assume we are going to actually want to USE the pegs for grinding and the like?

New hub, preferably with a beefy axle. Good luck on spacing.
