Is Marzocchi based on Italy?
Does that mean you could possibly get a fork for cheaper than in the US there? I'm asking because my brother is going to Italy and it woudl be nice to get a quality MZ fork for cheap.

It is based in italy. And I don't know about pricing, generally euro is more expensive then over here as the US has a bigger market base.
Besides, I doubt you could buy direct from the manufacturer.

Thats what I thought but I guess it was worth the shot, I'll have my brother find out the prices when he goes there to see what is the real deal.
On the other hand the good news is I'm getting my new bike tomorrow or Tuesday, I'm looking at a used 2005 STP1 for 700$ which to me seems like a great deal considering it went for 900$ new and its barely used.

Trust me, Europe is much more expensive than the US, do yourself a favor and buy everything there and not here. xDDD Seriously, used Drop Off Triples are going for 400 euros on the Spanish forums, in the US they wouldn't even give 300USD...

I've owned a number of their forks. Most were good, a few were problematic (like a number of first generation air forks).

Well I used MZ as an abbreviation of Marzocchi (what else can you really use?) I guess I shouldn't have abbreviated it like that to avoid confusion but I thought you'd knew what I meant

i wasnt saying all marzocchi forks are terrible, only a select few (the mz series) that come stock on low end bikes. jeez, take it easy, i have a marz, and i love it.

yes, i have a marzocchi mz III on my kona, but atleast i hope i'll be better at climbing once i upgrade the fork.
