Mongoose(not the walmart stuff)
 

I'm thinking of getting the Amasa Comp as a first mountain bike. Performance Bike has them on sell for 599. The components seem good(not sure about the hayes hyd. brakes though). does anyone have any experience with the newer mongoose bikes? If someone could check out the specs and tell me what they think i would appreciate it. Thanks.

i just recently got a new Goose Wing Super and like it a lot. Lot of bike for the $. Nice build quality, those Sole brakes are very nice.

I just recently bought a 2006 Mongoose Black Diamond Triple and love it. Before that bike I had a Mongoose DX 6.5 which i put through some rough times and nothing ever broke on me. In my experience Mongoose makes some good stuff but the fact that some of the bike they make end up in some -mart store gives them a bad name. If the bike fits you and you like how it rides go for it.

Looks good for the price. That Manitou fork probably wont last you too long though. Other than that, looks great.
