My faithful steed...

I was riding along today, coming home from campus. I started thinking about some things. I usually do that when I ride by myself. Anyway.. I started thinking that no matter how bad people may think life sucks, there's always someone worse off than you. So I might be broke as a joke, with a dead-end job. So my girlfriend slept with my best friend... it could be worse. No matter what harsh situations life may slap you in the face with, you know that it could ALWAYS be worse. You could be sleeping in a dumpster behind Taco Bell, with not a penny to your name, wondering where you're going to get your next meal. Or even worse, on the corner in the dumpster with NO BIKE! Your love life and financial situation may be in shambles, but that's all part of life. Life is too short to walk around angry at the world all the time. So when you think you're down, think of how things COULD BE WORSE! Think of life as a series of challenges. What fun would life be without them?

Ok.. I'm done ranting now. It's off to my dead-end job now. Where I'll day dream some more

Sounds like the makings of a country song.

You're right, life is too short to sweat the stuff you can turn around.

Jim311, sounds like a Heart Break Hotel tale.

Way I read it is that if there was such a thing as reincarnation, knowing your luck, you'd come back as you!

Life in a college town. Been there, done that, got the emotional scars to prove it. It may not seem like it now, but it does get better

Ah, man... I'm not sweating it at all. Girls are a dime a dozen, and I'm not interested in settling down at the least. But there are better ways to be dumped than your girl sleeping with your best friend, you know?

PS- He *HAS* ridden my bikes before. A real pal, huh?

Jim311,

Who needs those jerks anyway. You got us now, see. None of us will ever do that to you. You're much better off.

If you want to vent a bit you can email us all some naked pictures of her. What are buddies for.

I agree with Greg, what better way to get back at her than to e-mail pics of her, and give us all her phone number. That way we can call her and ask her out! Oh wait, did I type that out loud? Sorry, Merry Christmas!

J/k dude, I'm married w/ a kid, but if you want to go riding sometime, I could meet you at Santos or Reddick. You bring the Burrito Bros. and I'll bring the Brew!

Hey man.. that sounds good. If you're interested, we'll be at the power lines in Gainesville tomorrow, building some big jumps hopefully. We're hitting the trails at about noon... it should be big fun. If we decide to ride some more, we might run to Santos or Razorback as well. If you want to contact me, my IM name is Jimbob8142.

Oh, and as for those of you who were giving sympathy.. thanks
But it happened a while ago, and I was thinking about it when I was riding. I was thinking about how crappy life used to be. I was unemployed, my girlfriend had slept with my (I thought) best friend. My friend appologized and said he was genuinely sorry, but things just havent been the same between us since then. I think alcohol is a rather poor excuse for something like that.

I was basically just looking back on a time when my life REALLY SUCKED. In retrospect, things go much better. I've got a job, lots of friends, going back to school... things couldn't be too much better.
