disc brakes/hubs

I've found some new territory to ride in and I've found that the braking power of my v's might compromise my safety/health in some of the steeper sections. Much of the new terrain is grass and it's often moist, so I think it's time to put a disc brake on the front. I've decided on the bb7, though I know nothing about hubs. I don't know which hubs are of a quality build, what I should be looking for, how to install the new hub, etc. Please educate me!

Hubs are difficult to install if you don't know how to assemble a wheel. It might be easier if you just buy a new front wheel with disc hub.

Just buy a new disc hub and bring it to bike shop mechanic. and viola!!! you can now use it what ever you want to.Why front only? Enjoy safe riding

Your bike has to have tabs to mount calipers. Assuming it does, I'd put disc on front and rear. Avid BB7s are a good choice. Depending on the price of hubs and assembly it might be cheaper to buy some disc compatable wheels on EBAY.
