There was just a thread concerning this, but I use a Jump Stop on my 1x9 setup. I haven't had a jumped chain since.

not familiar with XC so much but the e.13 DRS wouldn't be too bad an option, as it still allows use of the mid and granny chainring.

I got my JumpStop last night and will be installing it on my Specialized Stumpjumper 1x7. Great little device at a great price.

You are looking at the heim product. I believe it is your only option for 3 ring

bah...who needs chainrings. I bought my 19" Rocky Mountain Flow used on eBay. It came with an MRP chainguide. I had decided that it would be the first thing to go, but honestly, I've gotten used to not having chainrings. The gear range is wide enough that I don't miss it unless I really need a really hard gear to blast down a long hill, or a super granny for a short steep climb, and I don't worry about losing my chain.
