Ya I saw those 3 posts this morning. bikeforums had some server problems last night when I was posting.
I guess I should start with this question. How much do that dj bike parts differ from a "traditional" mountian bike? What parts are special made for DJ bikes? Are handlebars handlebars? are Breaks just breaks meaning they are all the same for all bikes.
Does a DJ fork differ from a traditional bike?
I guess I don't know if I should be shopping in a dj bike store onlne or just any mountian bike store.
I hope this doesn't sounds too dumb but I can see how some parts are different and some being the same.
Correct me"
Rims: here are special rims for DJ bikes ( looks to me like they are alot wider and thus stronger )
Tires: it all just depends on what you want to use
Fork: I think dj bikes would have special forks ( due to the excessive pressure from huge drops & landings )
Handlebars: Handle bars are just handlebars, doesn't matter
Cranks: Dj Bikes require different cranks than a traditional mountain bike
Derailers: nothing special for DJ bikes
Pedals: whatever you prefer, nothing special
last thing, if there is a website I haven't been able to find that would help me out with most of these questions please point me in that direction.
Thanks
Breaks: Breaks are breaks, just depents on what you want
