Good/Bad ride??
Yesterday I went to do some trails about 5 km from my house... it was realy fun but it started getting not really pleasant when I tried to climb a huge rock around 5 feet high and fell on my back I exploded my camelback en scratched my elbow... it's not all I was about to leave... around 400 meters from the exit of the trail and I broke my seatpost!! 2 pieces so I went home without sitting ...

Word of truth- dont ride with the seat post as high as you can get it. There should be a line engraved in the post that means - dont clamp above this line. I dont understand how some guys can ride with the seat way up their ass anyway.
You may be lucky you didnt tweek your frame. I think we have all had those days where everything goes wrong. I was on a ride doing some downhill, and hit this drop and my pedal completly ripped out of the crank arm. Ripped the threads clean out, as I was attempting to ride the rest of the hill using the crank arm as a foot hold, the other crank with pedal still attached broke off the bb. I've bent bars on rides, broken seat beams (never a seat post), stems, derailleurs front and rear, derailleur hangers, bent cranks, pedals, blown rims to shreads.. anything that could be broken, its been done, minues the seat post. |
I would say that was a bad ride. But you always have to think that it could have been worse.
