Best bike for 400
Hey im currently looking to get a Trek Bruiser 1 for 400 . it has some upgrades

is this a good deal and is there anything else i can get for 400?

Yes, it's far better than the 820. Offer him 350 or something. That fork wont last long, that'll be your only problem. Other than the fork, it's a great bike.

i tried offering him 350 he said no.. even to 370 so i think ill go for this bike if i cant find anythign else thats as good if not better thats 400. soo even the fork that he put(he said he upgraded) wont last long?

If it's the Insync Edge, it's not upgraded. Those forks don't usually last very long. They rather blow up, or seize and become rigid.

He says the new fork is a stock-replacement...probably means the original one fell apart, and he got it replaced under warranty?
Anyway, coincidentally, I just got a Bruiser 1 myself...very solid and upgradeable bike. Call around the bike shops in your area and see if any of them still have some left, my LBS was blowing mine out for $300usd out the door...

yeah but does it have avid bb7 disk brakes and a truvative isoflow crank...
1 have one more question...i asked the guy to include the drive train that came with it. He said ok but if i change it would i just have to change the s.speed cassette and put a 24 speed one. I dont want to loose the disk brake because im not sure if changing it to get the 24 speeds would include changing the whole hub.

You probably don't need the gearing. The derailleurs it comes with are pretty crappy. Stick with the stock setup. 400 is great. The rear avid is like $130 on it's own.

Mine completely stock is somewhere around 33 lbs. Btw, the Bruiser will be a much better choice for you then the 820...have fun...
