help with brakes
Hi,
I tried a search without any luck. I ride a Giant Rincon as my commuter (pavement, some gravel, some dirt paths). The stock v-brakes are rusting, etc and would like to replace them soon.
I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have. I ride year-round which includes a harsh winter. Is it worth upgrading to something like AVID? Or Shimano XT? Or should I just get the cheapest and replace them each year?
Thanks

Just some standard AVID V's would be good. They're alloy so rust should be a non-issue. Plus the AVID's are simplier than Shimano's and work very well.

Go on eBay and get some CHEAP Avid SD 7's or SD 5's. Also get some CHEAP SD7 levers and your right to go! That is one of the best combination set up of v-brakes i have ever used and you will get them dirt cheap of eBay and they will never need 'updrading'!
