Co2 question
 

Invested in a co2 pump recently after i got a flat (right by my house luckily). So i fix it inside and it was a hole in the interior seam, looks like a defective tube. Pump it back up and its good as new. (yes i checked rim and rim strips for problems, none found).

Its been raining here in Cleveland non-stop (as it has in alot of places recently) and yesterday i noticed my tire is near completely flat despite the fact i havent rode it since i replaced the tube. Im wondering if its got something to do with the co2 as opposed to real air. Does co2 shrink when static for extended periods of time or something?

CO2 tends to migrate through the tube wall faster than air (something to do with the size of the molecules) - for more information, see other threads (use "search").

CO2 is actually a bit thinner (?) than regular air and it will leak out faster than air. For that reason CO2 makes a great quick fix when out riding but once you get home it is a good idea to let the air in the tire out and then re-inflate it.

I got a 12 volt compressor at Walgreens for $7 regular price and only use my C02 stuff on the trails.
the compressor takes about 60-75 seconds from flat to 40psi each tire

probably in the back of someone else's car........
