That thing is SO FAST that it is kinda blowing me away.

I recently saw one of Kurt Caselli, who is about the fastest American in desert off-road racing. UN-FUGGIN' GAWDLY fast.

At a certain point in speed, I quit looking for "smooth" or "good" lines, and I only look for things that I perceive will "take me out", and rely on the suspension and gyroscopic effect to carry me through everything else.

At the speed of that video, and of the one that I recently saw of Kurt, both have exceeded my ability to comprehend how they are still upright and taking nutrition. I mean, they are going SO FAST that I cannot see and decipher what is "good" and what is in the "that will wreck me" category.

Amazing.

Our abilities are truly beyond our grasp, at times.....

Woke up to some snow 2 days ago which we usually dont get much of. Made for some cool scenery in my backyard. Took this lil time lapse before my camera battery died. Not really biking related but still a cool visual.

Ahhhh . . . eating dust, dodging bushes at high speed in the desert. It all comes flooding back . . . thanks!

So I got hold of a camera and recorded some video of my friends and I hitting a drop-off and a small jump at some trails. We crash a few times. We're still beginners so nothing fast or impressive. The quality isn't great either since I'm new to videotaping things. Hopefully our skills will get better with time and I'll learn how to shoot videos lol.
I'm the guy in the white shirt btw. My successful jump at the end was actually pretty high (for us) but my buddy zoomed in for some reason, so you can't really see it.

craigcraigcraig 03-26-12 04:06 PM

put helmets on.

^^^What CX3 said. Beginners want to grow up too don't they?
