It depends if you want a geared bike or not. The 2006 p.1 is singlespeed, where the Kona Shred has a front and rear derailleur. IMO, i believe the Kona would be the better bike as it looks like the stronger bike and it has a much better fork on it than the p.1. So my votes on the Kona.
