Urban Mountain Biking

So I've been kind of looking at some of this urban mountain biking stuff and its pretty cool. I like the idea of jumping of stairs and on top of curbs and benches but info is hard to come by. Why don't you guys let me in on your secrets. What bikes do you use(would a ss do fine)? Where do you swap stories? Tell me some stories. Show me some pics. Thanks.

Urban mountain biking can be done on any bike, but freeride hardtails with smaller frames work best.

If you want true street, this is one of the best you can get. Can handle it like a stick.

I'm not a big fan of the stp, I find that the cranks sit too low.

What about the specialized 2005 hardrock singlespeed. I can get it at my LBS for $350.

You'd probably be happier with a P-series for what you want to use it for.

I think the 2007 line is only available in Australia for the moment but for all intents and purpose, here is the Australian 2007 STP line which is still broken into STP Zero, STP 1 and STP 2:
