Doing a fun-bike buildup
Well, as a result of a very emotionally trying 2 weeks, I've been needing a project, so I'm taking the spare MTB parts I have and attaching them to this. It'll be an interesting look and it'll be nice to have a bike that I'd have fun trying to break!

Cool, nothing like a new build to take your mind off things. What's the finished product gonna look like?

Sounds like a fun project! Good luck!
My bud and I are creating a trials bike with an old bmx frame...but we have to work with canadian teenager pocket change! |
Frame came in this morning. I should have it built by Wedensday. I'll post some pics of the rig.

OK, here is a pic of the almost complete build. The only thing it's missing is the FD because my Alivio FD is 31.8mm and I need a 28.6. I've got a Tourney 28.6 (I know it's Tourney, but hey, it's front derailleur!) on the way.

Trials frames are much, much longer than bmx frames. http://www.harobikes.de/images/bikes_2006/ny_pro_g.jpg http://www.trial.ricany.cz/images/ne...thon06bike.jpg You also probably won't be able to put a decent rear brake on the bmx bike. The fork on the bmx would be too short, and mod trials bikes have a 19 inch rear wheel, not 20. And we can't forget the stem/bars combo that's completely different. |
deore on a blur is just wrong. it aint right. i think baby jesus just cryed
