upgrade
http://www.falconcycles.co.uk/CORP/g...StoneRiver.jpgi have a standard mountain bike (claude butler stone river, £250, single suspension) and have started doing jumps on it, anyone got any ideas on extra parts or parts to upgrade??

well a more suitable fork would be in order... looks like your current fork has only 80mm of travel, or even less.
thanks!
what price range are you going for and where are you going to buy it from?
If you're doing jumps then... probably get a longer travel fork and Chainguide? But definitly should consider the fork.
If you are doing jumps then NO you don't need longer travel than 80mm. However I agree that a new fork with better dampening is in order. Pretty much for jumping you don't want more than 120mm but 60-80mm gives th bike great feeling. Chainguide is good if you jump, but do you also do XC on that bike?
i dont do huge jumps but i just find that when i do one the chain realy bangs and most of the time falls off, the gear system seem a little delicate as well is there anyway to toughen them up?
That's not a jumping bike. You're voiding your warrentee and not using the bike correctly. I'd suggest buying a frame that would suit you better. Azonic Steelhead's are one of the cheapest dirt jumping frames around, and pretty well built. That's what I think you should upgrade.

yeah, not a jumping bike. Maybe upgrade the whole thing...?
