Tufo C XC on road? off road?

Any experience using this tire for both on and off road? I'm getting a hardtail to use for commuting and occassional off-road. My original idea is to swap tires when I'm going off road but these intrigue me. Is it possible to get acceptable on-road and off-road performance from the same tire since I'm not a speed demon on asphault nor a thrill seeker off-road?

I am looking for something similar to use on days I feel adventurous and ride the Hardrock to work instead of the Road bike. I'd want tires that don't make me feel like I'm piloting a tank while on the street, but allow me to handle some rocky trails.

Just looking at the description of that tire gives me warm feelings. Pump it up for the road, and let some air out for the trails. Hopefully someone has some with the Tufo XC1 or the C XC1 (they look to be the same, other than the tubular clincher thing).
