Kenda Nevegal vs Blue Groove

Looking to upgrade tires on my Pine Mountain. I know Nevegals get great reviews, but I think they might have too aggressive tread for the mainly hardpack singletrack riding I do. I'm wondering if the Blue Groove tires might be a better choice. Could anyone who has ridden both comment?

I went to see a fair share of tires at my LBS, among them was the Nevegal and Blue Groove, the Blue Groove was similar to the Nevegal except a little less aggresive, looks like a Nevegal front/Blue Groove rear would be a nice combo.

It seems like you would like the Groove better, I chose the Nevegal because it works better for me, tons of mud, roots and aggresive terrain here but the Groove is faster, a little less aggresive and probably the right choice for hardpack.

Thats all I can contribute, I didn't really ride the Groove, I just "tested" it.

You may want to check out the Karma's, too.

I used the nevegal for downhill on my rear. To be honest still the most stable rear tire I have ever ridden, you could really drive the rear end of the bike into the turns and it would hook up consistently...when my current mobster wears out I intend to go buy one for the transition.

Well listen to this.

I use Nevegal 2.1" front and rear for XC. I do pay the price of weight, but dam they are good.

Infact i am looking at getting more XC racey tyres, and using the Nevegals for just like all-mountain application and an all round tyre. They suck in mud though.
