Kevlar cuirasses for tubes - any experience with these?
About two weeks ago I nearly fell hard, going down a steep road. I was riding on asphalt at high speed and my front tube deflated almost instantly making me lose control of the steering. When I checked my front tire a thorn and some plant bits left on the pavement had pierced it. The thorn was half an inch long and hard as a nail.
This got me thinking about protection against flats, so I just put some Geax kevlar cuirasses between my tubes and my 2.0 MTB tires.
Are these things worth their price and weight? (they add another 50 grams to each wheel)

Sorry, but I'll revive this post to answer my own question: kevlar lining for tubes doesn't work nearly as good as it bloody should. I just had another flat!
I'm riding 90% of my miles on asphalt, using protection and I'm still getting flats like crazy. This time it only took an half inch piece of what used to be a pin to put my rear tire out of commission.
