Race sponsor.......why spend the money?

So you read all the racing blogs this week and they have rider interviews with riders involved in races this weekend. They show links to the sponsors and event websites. So naturally you think, hey this event is close by why not check it out. Jeep sponsors the Jeep KOM series with the top 8 men and women downhiller and xcrossers. They set a schedule and put one of them in Elkhart Lake, WI at the same time they schedule one of the annnual Camp Jeep events for Jeep owners. So I drove over there today and unless you were a Jeep owner who had paid the $395 fee to attend this Camp Jeep weekend event you could not get through the gate. You would think in this day and age with the thousands that Jeep spent on setting up thhe course, flying in the athletes and promoting it to their current ownership base that they would at least open the gate for two hours and allow the general public (who could be future Jeep customers ) to view this major biking event that their PR department made sure the cycling press was blasting all over the web this past week. Nah, they don't give a hoot about their potential customers.
I'll never be one that's for sure. All I had to do was buy a Jeep on the spot and pay the $395 and I could have gotten in. Huge price to pay for two hours of race watching enjoyment. By the way did I mention that in all the press and on the Jeep sports website it said NOTHING about this being a closed to Jeep owners only event.

Yeah, that's messed up. Doesn't surprise me after watching a Jeep commercial last week. They showed a Liberty tearing some mud hole to shreds and then talked about their new diesel Jeep that's better for the environment b/c it's more fuel efficient.

I had a Jeep for a while. Loved it. That commercial and your story suck, though.
