San Fernando Valley Riding?

Hi,
As you read this msg I am heading out to San Fernando Valley California to work with a friend for the next week. I am from Glendale Arizona and know nothing about the Valley or any local riding areas. I do know I have a bike and I want to ride as much as I can. I have been told we are staying over by Castiac Lake. I have no idea where that is but again I'd like to go riding. I'll have a truck to use so I can drive anywhere somewhat close to go ride. Please reply if you know anywhere to ride or if there is anything going on that I should checkout before I go home. Thanks
