Just ordered my new race frame - Turner Nitrous
 

Well after searching as much as I could and asking questions both here and on mtbr in the turner forum I have yet to find anything negative about the Turner Nitrous. It wasn't easy to do but I bit the bullet and ordered the frame about 15 minutes ago. I can't wait to see this thing in person. If it is anywhere near as efficient as it is supposed to be it will be worth every penny.

The bad news is that I am only going to have about two or three weeks to get used to it before the series championship race. I'll find out then if it lives up to the hype. What does kind of suck is if I don't win I won't have any excuses. The only thing left to blame will be the engine. :o

Congrats on your new Nitrous Lowcel. Turner suspension bikes are very efficient pedalers.

How about something a little side-tracked here. There's word that a 29er version of the Flux will be coming out called the Turner Sultan. Sounds intriguing to me.

Absolutely nothing is wrong with the truth, it's a great bike. I just think it makes a better trail / endurance racing bike. I will still be keeping it and riding it as my every day / rough course race bike. As for the weight don't tell anyone but I still have three more pounds to lose before I can ride the new bike. :rolleyes:

After losing this much weight I'm pretty sure I can lose three more pounds, what you think?

I don't know if it is actually more efficient or just as efficient as other designs. What sets it apart is that it is so efficient while weighing only 4.5 pounds! :eek: It is also designed specifically for racing and some guy named Kabush seemed to do pretty well on it. :D

Uhmm, I'll let you know about the housework after my wife notices it. I think it may be in my best interest to go ahead and order some flat black spray paint and give the bike a paint job before I take it home. She may notice a gold mountain bike when I have only had two black ones taking up space for the past year or so. :rolleyes:

I thought about a 29'er. It's pretty bad but what kept me from getting one was wheels. I already have four wheelsets that I use on a regular basis set up for all different conditions. I like the convenience of it and have gotten spoiled. I really don't want to have to buy four new wheelsets for a 29'er. :rolleyes:

Yup, I'm getting gold. I believe that is the only change being made for 2007. The 2007's will be silver.

Nope, never got to test ride one. Going by the reviews and the geometry I should be pretty happy with it. The measurements are almost exactly the same as the Enlightenment it will be replacing. The only differences are stand over height is 0.5" more on the nitrous and the head tube angle on the Nitrous is 71.0 and on the Enlightenment it was 71.5". Other than that the chainstay is 0.1" shorter on the Nitrous.

Sweet frame man, a buddy of mine recently built up a turner flux and it's just badazz that's all there is too it. I"ll never be able to understand or justify the raping these companies put on consumers reguarding price. It's welded tubing, probably $300 in tubing.

I race ATV's and companies do the same with aftermarket parts. Jack up the cost something crazy for some fancy pipe bending and welding. Once a Jig is made up, it's all down hill after that to weld up a frame.
