Great ride.

I finaly got back on the freeride bike today after 2 months of stricly dh'ing. It felt good. I did my local training climb today. 3 mi long with about a 7 to 8% grade on a 45lb bike. For not doing any cardio for a while I did it close to my fastest time. And the descent, wow, with all the dh practice I have been doing it was like riding on the road. I beat my max mph by 10mph (I hit 45mph). It is such a rush flowing through ST at that speed with all the trees and brush just wizzing by. Once I break the 30min mark on the climb I will enter my first xc race in 8 years. I am also shooting for my first solo 24hr race in September. Well the season is looking good this year and I am hoping to take first over all in my class. I got 3rd over all last season and missed 2 races. Thats enough for now.

I atempted a solo on a single speed back in '93. It was not that bad until I tocoed my frontr rim and bent my bars. I actually enjoy riding SS. I grew up rind my BMX bikes on rides up to 50 miles and being a SS I had less componentry that could give me problems. I am currently building one to be used for dj/trials/xc. I know the xc does not fit in well with what I am going to use it for but it should be fun.
