Clipless pedal reccomendations.
 

Getting tired of my Shimano 520's and feel that the time to upgrade has long since past. And the fact that I can't find them anywhere... Oh well, give me your reccomendations! I'm looking at the Mallet C's and M's, Candy SL's, Time Atac Alium, and Time Z's. I want something somewhat wide, in case I have to unclip for some reason a ride a section. A little bit of float is freffered.

I just switched my FS from M540s to M647s and it was a definite improvement. The 647 is basically the 540 with a platform.

I've been very happy with my Time Atac pedals. Easy clip in and out, plus pretty good in the mud and snow. Personally, I'd rather not have a large platform with clipless. Having less of a platform has forced me to stay clipped in and learn to handle the bike while clipped in. Also, the platform on something like the Time Z's doesn't have much in terms of grip, so they may not be very effective riding while clipped out over a gnarly section of trail.

Speedplay Frogs are nice. As are Crank Bros Candy pedals.

I switched from SPD's to CB Mallets last season - the feel is definitely different. One person's "float" is anothers' "mushy feel."

Although the CB's are certainly nice pedals, based upon my personal preference, I will be going back to Shimano, I think.

I recenlty bought a set of Nashbar SPD style clipless pedals that have a cage. Similar to the Shimano 647's. I put them on Friday and I absolutely love 'em. They are pretty easy to get in and out of and the grip when not clicked in is pretty good as well. Better than I expected. I'm not sure of the durability of them as of yet but they seem to ve very well built. Here's the link.
