Show me your DirtBag!
That's right, show me your Transition DirtBag! What do you use it for? How did you build it up? Pros? Cons?
Let me know

Still kicking.
I'm not showing anyone my Transition DirtBag...
That's because I don't have one.

or maybe would you like one?
my wife and i will be moving to america next year and i think i will be buying a fully then. so i got my sights on the transition 5" travel bike covert. its cheap, its very competent quality wise (or so i have heard) and best of all it has low enough standover to accommodate my interfering ballz (my current bike has 29" standover and for some stupid reason it aint enough)

Don't want one. If it can't be made into a SS, then I really don't care.

Ok ,on point.
I have pics around the site. As for the ride I have posted some detailed ride reports. In short, so not to repeat myself. It is a solid build. I am a 270 to 280 pound hack. Not to smooth and generally plow through stuff instead of "float". I, personally, don't notice brake jack as it is a single pivot but that is likely due to my braking habits, which I think are very good. Unlike some of my other riding.
With the dhx it is as good a pedaller as can be expected from a 7in travel bike. The 2005 REALLY fits the 2005 66rc. The geometry is slack enough for some solid dh and... ok it isn't steep at all. I REALLY needed to adapt my body position to go up hills.
Bottom bracket height and standover are a little to high for downhill (racing level), however its a fr bike...it fits that bill perfectly.
I do...this is the ONLY weakness, find the rear loose. Compared to my bighit this thing is a little noodly. A straight through axle and slightly different riding (more up front instead of pushing the rear in corners) and it was better. Personally, if I were in charge, I would get them to either follow suit with trek and put in some MASSIVE pivots, or build a 150mm rear. I notice it because of my size and ride style, it is really very solid for the average sized rider.
As for riding, I do xc, trails, LONG downhills, steep, smallish drops and I don't jump...I have jumped on it, it was ok, but I REALLY hate jumping. For me and this area, its been a great all round bike. I RARELY want my ht anymore. (don't tell her, she'll get jealous) but I do still take her out to really get me up those big mountains haha
2 things they fixed that I hated. (ok one thing, but I like the other thing too) I hate...DESPISE...FREAKING ANNOYED with the 26.8 seatube. Difficult size to find for fr level riding. They are now 30...which matches EVERY other bike I have. Arg...one year to late. The 1.5 headtube is nice too...gives more options. Next step...figure out what to do with that rear end...
I give the bike a...8.5 out of 10. I am a pretty picky rider compared to my friends, and really notice geometry to a tee...I would be hard pressed to find a 9 out of 10 let alone a 10
