Bleed kit compatibility

Hi guys!

Me and a friend were wondering if the bleed kits for the Avid Juicy 5 and the Formula Oro brakes are the same? It'd be good if they were since then we'd split the costs of the bleed kit and it would come out better overall.

Thanks,
-DC

No one? It's somewhat urgent (need it by the end of this week). Thanks!

You might have better luck posting this question here.

A bleed kit is a bleed kit, all it is a syringe/ sqeeze bottle to push brake fluid through the lines. The only diffrence in bleed kits are the adapters to connect the hose from the syringe/ bottle to the calliper, and possible the brake fluid. I guess you could just buy one for avids and then try to buy adapters for the formulas, and possibly diffrent brake fluid.

I suggest you just buy your own, it will be much easier.

LowCel: Thanks, I'll try that.
FreeRidin': That's the thing though, all the adapters and god knows what. It's kind of complicated but if anyone downright knew if they were compatible then I suppose it'd save me and the friend a lot of hassle.

Cheers

Hmm you may be in luck

Heres a pic of the Avid bleed kit

And heres a link to the Forumla bleed kit, just click on the pic to enlarge

It does look like the adapters are very similar so it might just work, but that would be a gamble.

Hmmm yeah, they do look pretty similar. Damn, if we're having this much trouble finding bleed kits I wonder what it's going to be like actually bleeding the damn brakes.

Thanks for the help! :D

bleeding is cake, do it the tried and true way which involves no kit at all just patience

Take a sip of the DOT 4 bottle and then spit it in through the bleed nipple? :D
