Maybe you could enlighten us as to what sort of use it's had.

its hard to get money for a used bike because people who ride already have a bike and people who don't ride are not likely to shell out enough money to get a decent bike.

Not to be critical, but the bike is almost 7 years old. That's a long time for bike these days. Really, I'd be surprised if you could get $500 for it. You might actually be better off parting it out.

You've got some nice stuff on it, minus the cranks. The wheels and the brakes are probably worth $350 -$400 on ebay alone, maybe more, depending on their condition. The frame/fork/BETD link isn't worth near a much as you would hope, you could probably get you another $250-$300.

But as a total bike you'd be lucky to get bids over $350, merely due to it's age!

BTW, I love those MAX extruded FSR's. Back in '98 and '99 they were THE frame! I just love the way they ride.

If you do decide to part it out, let me know, I might be interested in your wheels. (Not they brakes though!)

I just reread your spec, and you've got what? About $2500 into it? Sucks to think it's not worth much anymore. With trickle down technology, the same bike new is selling for $1,100 with a better component spec.

Kinda like a New car. The second you drive it off the lot, it's worth half as much.

If the bike was in BRAND NEW Condition you could probably get $750 for it! By the time someone's gonna shell out that kind of money, it doesn't make sense to buy a 7 year old bike. However, if you part it out, people don't mind spending $100 or $200 at a time on decent stuff!

Sorry!
