would you guys say this is a good deal.... here is the description i found. i know it's a cheap old bike, but i am trying to find something that will actually work besides that crap at wally mart!

all it says in the description for this bike is as follows:

TITLE: Trek 21 Speed mountain bike - $50
DESCRIPTION: "A little old but hardly ever ridden. "

i am pretty much assuming there are no real problems, i emailed the guy and i am waiting for a reply. i wish there was more to go off as far as the description goes. i was just kind of hoping someone on here might recognize the bike or something. i'll be on later to check replies, so let me know what ya think!

if it's not broken and fits you, sure its a good deal.

edit: oh as far as recognizing it, all i know is it looks like an "older Trek" the only names that come to mind are the 820 or the antelope, and i dunno what the differences are, well i think the 820 is steel, but they look the same to me.

the guy says it takes longer to shift than it should but other than that is in good condition "for the price" as the seller said. is that something a tune up would fix? and how much do tune ups run for usually?

thanks!
just lube it up and/or replace the cable/housing should run like $15 or close
small bottle of lube $6, complete set of fr/bk detrauiler cable/housing $8, able to fix a bike problem yourself, PRICELESS! there's always something money cant buy. for everthing else, there's bikeforum.net =)

The photo is absolutely awful. But for $50 it's hard to go wrong. The frame looks huge, if you're 6'2" or over, I say go for it.
