Rockhopper Disc vs. Trek 6000

Hello, which of these 2 bikes do you people think is the best buy? they are both the same price. It seems the rockhopper has a better fork (lighter and with a lockout), and the trek has better shifters / derailers / brakes...

Just ride the two of them and see wich one feels better to you. I have ridden both a Trek and a Rockhopper. The choices available to me were the 07 rockhopper or the 06 trek6500 and I liked the trek better. If it was an 06 rockhopper I might have gone the other way but who knows. you choose you have to ride it Welcome to the forum and please dont take any of this the wrong way. Its just that regardless of the some of the parts, one of them will feel better to you ride them and you will see.

I too would like some insight on this. Could somebody go through the specs of each one and tell me which parts on each one is better than the other. I would do this myself, but I have no idea which parts are better than the other.

Any opinions would be appreciated as well.

Looks like the Trek has slightly better components but the Specialized may have a slightly better fork.
I'd go with what feels best first and the better shop (if different) next.
