Wow, a simple little joke that seems to be just a little too much for some to handle.

I decided to add road biking to my MTB rides. But after buying two MTBs in the last 12 months, I figured my chances of getting Mrs. Roccobike to agree were zero. So I decided to cruise yard sales. After buying a nice, but small Ross 290S and a really nice 93 steel, Fuji 16 speed, I came across this Cannondale, 21 speed, head shock, Silk Road, SR500. The owner had just purchased a new Specialized and was moving so she wanted to unload the old bike. I was simply in the right place at the right time. I cleaned the chain and started riding and have had only one minor problem since then. What a great bike.

chrisgraham81 - I think you're the first mountain biker I know who has a fixed-gear bike. That a dedicated track bike or do you ride it on the street?

I'm starting with the frameset and will build it up with Ultegra bits. It's the wheelset I have to figure out. I don't really want to spend a lot on them. I'm pretty sure I won't be at 17.2 lbs but I will definitely be much lighter than my mountain bikes.

Ah yes, I hadn't noticed that probably due to the drop bars and the front brake. How is it riding a fixed gear bike? How easy is it to stop?

Need some advice on road wheelsets. I started looking and saw some Mavic Ksyrium Equipe for about $300 USD. I guess I'll budget about $300 for a wheelset for the Felt F3C frameset I posted earlier. Is that a good one or does anyone have any other recommendations?
