Cannondale M700 (1994 model) suspension-ready?

Hi folks,

I'm planning to upgrade my M700 (1994 model, 22") with a suspension fork (Rock Shox Judy TT, 2001 model). Can anyone tell me if my frame is compatible to this kind of fork or does the change in geometry caused by the mounting of this fork provoke an compromising riding position, steering/handling conflicts and/or other probs/injuries?

Did anybody gain general experience in this topic which could be helpful?

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Chandler

Chandler - I suspect the geometry may be changed to much for your liking, but you can find out with a few measurements. You want to take the crown to axle measurement of your current fork and compare to the fork you want to install. I believe each inch difference causes a 1/2 degree change in the head angle (or is it every 1/2 inch makes a 1 degree change?), but I can't remember where I read this.

You could probably get away with a short travel fork (63mm) and still feel comfortable. Hope this helps, I'll post more info if I can dig it up.
