What,Why?????

Did the "funny" thread get deleted as well. Why?? If folks are that thin skinned the should go somewhere else!

FreeRidin' 11-16-06 06:13 PM

Mr. Bluestar Lowcel, come on!!!

cryptid01 11-16-06 06:19 PM

I wouldn't blame the mods before I heard from SBW...

Dannihilator 11-16-06 06:43 PM

It was removed, because of the potential of it becoming a giant fight, plus that is not what we(the site itself) want the site to appear as unfriendly to the common newbie. We have to have the site be more friendly to the newcomers, so we absolutely can not have threads like that around in the on topic forums. There are other reasons why it was removed, you'll just have to wait and find out.

Sorry guys. A few of us talked it over and didn't think that was the impression we wanted our newer member's to have of us. If new member's get on here and the first thread they see is all of us regulars making fun of the new guys (and gals) it may keep them from posting.

Thanks, LowCel, KonaRider, etc. It was the right call.

No one super-glued your eyelids open and forced you to look at/read anything on here. If you don't like it, use your mouse button and click on a different thread instead of sitting there with veins popping out in your forehead because YOU don't agree with or like what someone else has to say. No one ever said you have to like everything someone else says...and there's no law that says you have the right to not be offended every once in awhile. People running to the mods over a thread they don't like is just childish.

In short, I agree with mtnbiker66.

/gets off soapbox.

Nobody ran to the mods, the thread was never reported. We would just like our new members to feel welcome and free to ask whatever bike related question they would like.

Yes, that one. Why was it deleted, it was all in good fun... no one was bickering.

I agree. I found this forum over a year ago through Google like many others and was excited to see what others had to say, especially since I am returning to mtn. biking and building up a new bike. However, I did not expect the attacks or being made fun of since I have been out of it for so long. I felt like I was trying to enter some sort of special club where a few dominated the conversation and newbies were discouraged for their ignorance.

The reason is posted above. ;)

mtnbiker66 11-16-06 07:24 PM

I thought the whole thing was funny. There are several members on here that are very quotable.

i agree.

...and i have also noticed over the past few months that siubluewind likes to start troublesome threads/posts and then likes to see how they manifest among others

Ahh comon that's not true. It was a thread about funniest quotes, not meant to ridicule anyone. Plus we were all having a good time in it. Not all of the quotes were made by new people, and they were just funny things people said.

Dannihilator 11-16-06 08:15 PM

We felt the thread as a whole needed to go.

santiago 11-16-06 08:29 PM

I, for one, regret that we chased cuddlebum away.

Minesbroken 11-16-06 09:09 PM

What do you suggest? I'm a fair guy, I'll apply it to both of you. :D

MX. If I wanted to start trouble I could have. Notice I put clear instructions not to put anyone's names on there so people's feellings won't get hurt. There are a lot of fights here on mtn biking and I was trying to lighten things up by remembering funny things. No where in my posts did I degrade anyone. I actually complimented the person who rambled on, saying that they were smarter than they thought. Try to remember the actual content of my original post rather than looking at the negative.

Minesbroken 11-16-06 09:21 PM

just people taken stuff out of context again.

Minesbroken 11-16-06 09:25 PM

you can take any one person...one on one and every one of them can carry on a conversation and act normal.......you put a hundred normal people in a room and they all become idiots :)
